The first step is to engineer and then file for the FDNY ARCS. For new construction buildings that do require an FDNY ARCS radio system, the filing process will need to start before the building is completed. The first filing process may take as long as six weeks but can sometimes be completed in as short as four weeks. Here are some timeline for the process:
During the filing period, we provide updates we receive from FDNY and will answer any questions you have.
After approval, we can start working on the physical installation of products.
Once the installation is completed, we then
will initiate a second filing on your behalf. If FDNY makes any objections, we work to resolve these in a timely manner.
In conclusion, the Fire Department completes a proper and thorough inspection and professional testing of the entire system.
We will work with you and your team of engineers to make sure everything is installed as planned and that your building receives the final approval. Our direct approach to this long and sometimes exasperating process is why our clients prefer working with us from the beginning and have now come to rely on our professionalism for their routine maintenance and follow-up inspections. Maintaining your system and ensuring compliance with FDNY regulations is part of our ongoing commitment to you that AGTechnologies provides. We ensure that your ARC System is in continued working order, if for any reason the system is not operational, we will work with you to rectify the issues to bring the system back to operational. AGTechnologies makes sure that the design, installation, operation, and continued maintenance of an in-building auxiliary radio communication system (ARCS) is for dedicated fire department and emergency personnel use only. We also design and install in accordance with the building, construction, and electrical codes applicable in NYC. Your ARCS is required to be installed using a master electrical licensed by the DOB, which we ensure. We also provide proper testing upon installation as is required and maintain continued compliance as well. After the initial testing, a detail report of the testing and results of the test are submitted to FDNY to demonstrate proper use and function as well as being ready for department use. All of this is performed by our superior staff of dedicated employees and engineers at AGTechnologies.
